The Uncomplaining Model

It was raining yesterday when I took the Zeiss for a spin.
In one way it limited me a bit in terms of light and what and where to shoot, but in the other hand rain always provides nice little details worth to capture.

Despite not being a macro lens at all, this old 50mm prime almost behaves like one. Its minimum focusing distance of 0.18m plays a huge part on that, allowing us to get really close to the subject. Add some extension tubes to the equation and you'll be immediately in Macroland.

As always I picked a simple and most of all, uncomplaining model. A cabbage!

Same cabbage here, but since no leaf is created equally I picked a different one for this second shot, for diversity sake.

I also photographed it from a longer distance, to check how good that blurred background would look.

I would love to say that no leaves were harmed during this photo shoot, but the truth is that both of them ended up in my plate on that same day...
