Before I came to Mexico this time around, I never gave Chihuahuas much thought. I knew of their association with Mexican culture, but it was probably from Taco Bell commercials. Now that I've spent several months here, I have come to realize that there is absolutely no stereotype about Mexico and Chihuahuas. They love them. There could be a pack of street dogs producing puppies left and right, but a good portion of dog owners here prefer Chihuahuas.
There lives a family of dogs next door to me here in Acapulco Mexico, two of which are Chihuahuas. I wake up to these guys barking at anyone who passes by.
The two Chihuahuas will not let me touch them. They run away except for when I am petting the other two.
This particular one gets excited and comes to inspect playfully.
These little guys are the epitome of cute but they really have the most annoying bark of all.
A friend had one and they are very shaky, they also bark a lot hahaha but they are beautiful besides small ones
