ISO settings gets me every time. I photograph orchids often in dark rain forest locations. I go walking in the late afternoon. No tripod - have to change ISO settings. Next day photographing sun orchids in bright sunlight - YIKES. Caught myself today
No tripod is not an excuse - it is a choice as I get to all my photo sites by bicycle. I have to carry everything in my pockets or my hydration pack. Truth is I do have a small one but it is lurking in my house somewhere - MISPLACED.
I do keep RAW - not spent much time learning how to tweak photos from there - will get to it in due course
