All trembled with laughter,
as she descended once more
into the darkness she sprang from;
luminous no more, and armed to disrupt no longer.
Obliterated at her dawn, my resident of recollection -
what a magnificent creature had she been,
if only in that moment.

Behold as she wears her fiery wings,
breathing fire and brimstone,
doused in petroleum and gasoline -
fly she did past velvet skies, igniting the night;
ablaze as a setting sun - fierce at the impending end.
Majestic as an Icarus wrapped in a wisecracked shield,
seeking solace within the fall, but finding life instead.
