this week was hectic, due in part to disruption at home, a big huge work-related meeting, and a surprise video shoot (i don't like that kind of surprise!!!). i felt like i was on the road and/or busy for most of the week, and i wonder how that reflects in my pictures. i also feel like i figured out the next place i want to take this project-- i'm stoked to get started on week six!

new doctor ordered new blood work. it was nice to reflect on how much less anxious i am in medical offices like these than i used to be, and i was surprised how hard it is to take a picture with my off-hand!

there's a lot of construction going on at the hospital where my psychiatrist works, which i thought was a pretty great visual metaphor: did they dig that hole to take something bad out, or to put something good in? it's certainly a mess now; will it leave a scar? and of course since psychiatry is so immaterial, and is measured in moods and behavior and other, more subjective ways, it was interesting to think about the construction in my head and the holes and their purposes

met with someone who also happens to be a photographer and took this picture in their gallery. i'm actually surprised how many photography studios there are in town!

the legendary appalshop in whitesburg, ky-- home to so much awesomeness, and for such a long time. i love the way it's hugged by the mountains, and from this angle, is challenging their supremacy!

this is the raw output from a 360 camera i used to create a virtual tour at another important place in the mountains. playing with 360/VR is FUCKING WILD-- very different than traditional photo & video!

mist rises off pine mountain behind the grounds of pine mountain settlement school in bledsoe, ky. really really beautiful phenomenon here in the mountains-- reminds one how alive they are!

cumberland falls near corbin, ky, home of the legendary moonbow. there should be a full moon next week-- i hope the weather will be nice enough to catch the moonbow!
