With spring comes slightly warmer weather in Michigan. That means that it is time to start visiting some of the local parks. One of which is Riverside. As the name suggests, it features a river running beside it. With so much rain happening though, this river was quite flooded for our trip.
Much of the walkways were inaccessible. We walked what was accessible. Although mushy and rather wet, this got us out of the house and provided a way for me to try out my camera a bit. This tree provided an interesting photo. Further down the park was another flooded area with what is usually a walkway and bench area.
The mosses were rather happy with the conditions. Growing on the sides of trees, on the roots of trees, on the ground. Moss is everywhere. It also provides some nice close up images.
I snagged a few images of other life as well. There were some snail shells as we walked. While these are an invasive species here, I couldn't help but take a photo. Lichen was abundant there, and other plants were starting to spring back from winter.
