Spurn Point, an ever changing landscape

in photography •  7 years ago

Spurn Point is a slither of ever changing land that juts into the North Sea on one side and curls round the Humber estuary on the other. It can be bleak, dark and menacing when the wind howls the sea rages and the sky darkens. It can also be beautiful and calm with endless sand alround it’s tip and music fills the air with the chirping sounds of the birds often rare that pass its way.

It’s a 3 mile walk to the tip but is well worth it. Just make sure you check the tides as at its narrowest point the sea and the Humber can become one and the tip becomes an island. Be warned!!

Images shot with Minolta 5d and converted to b/w.

Thanks

Good photos, I particularly like the second one. Do you use a filter for the sky or HDR?

Many thanks, no filter or hdr used just played with changing different channel mix colours till I get the contrast I’m looking for. Trial and error really.
