Dream Photo Shoot With an A90 Toyota Supra Part 1

Back in the fall i got the unique opportunity to do a shoot with a new Toyota Supra. For those who are not car enthusiasts there needs to be some backstory to the iconic name "Supra". The Toyota Supra was originally produced in 1978 and was intended to be a step above the Toyota Celica in Toyota's sports car line up. The Supra sold well but didn't begin to turn heads until its fourth generation in 1993 where it received the notorious 2jz-Gte engine which proved to be one of the most durable and efficient engines produced to this day. Still the Supra was not the poster child of the car community until the fast and furious movies where Paul Walker sported a bright orange Supra with green and purple decals on the sides. Post Fast and Furious, the Toyota Supra became the most iconic Japanese sports car and with its demise in 2002 many wondered when its successor would be released.
In 2014 fans thought they got their first glimpse of the new "Supra" when toyota unveiled the FT-1 Concept car at the North American International Autoshow in 2014. The concept stunned the car community with a super car looking coupe which people couldn't but dub as the "new supra".
Fast forwarding to 2019 Toyota finally released their new Supra which did take styling cues from the FT-1 it was much less aggressive admittedly to get the car into the ~$50,000 dollar price range in the american market. Styling was not the only thing toyota was forced to do in order to come in under budget, for starters the car was produced in partnership with BMW to keep costs down as BMW was also developing a new Z4 which shares a chassis and drive train with the a90 Supra. This didn't sit well with fans as the Supra had more parts labeled with BMW logos than Toyota. One final alteration to the new supra was the lack of a manual gearbox which was considered a staple to the Supra name. Toyota states it will potentially offer a manual transmission in later years if demand is there.
At the end of the day the new supra stayed true to its roots with a turbocharged inline six engine, an affordable price range, and styling unlike any other car on the road.

Now without anything further I give you the photos i took of the brand new 2020 Toyota supra! i will release photos daily from each location i shot at!

My first spot was in front of the columns at my university which made for a nice background!
