Given that the Philippines is a tropical paradise surrounded by water it's no doubt that the first thing I did when I moved here from Texas was to get certified for diving. I had been told by several of my friends that it was a hobby that (and taking a quote from Pretty Woman) you would "either love it or hate it... if you hate it, you will at least appreciate it," at least from the eye's of someone who loves it. I was one of those who quickly got addicted and love it.
The feeling of being in a whole other world where everything moves just a little bit slower and has a life of it's own. I enjoy the feeling of being weightless, calm, and carefree surrounded by the cool and embracing wetness of the ocean - does that sound too kinky?
I wanted to share my experience with those of you who have the same interest as me through a number of photos and videos from my recent dive in Anilou Batangas here in the Philippines. A place known for having some spectacular dive spots.
Below are just some the creatures I encountered during my dive this weekend. If you scroll down further I have also included a couple of videos.
Below are the two most unique creatures I came across - A turtle who gracefully swam through the water and even came up to the surface to say Hi and a Sea crab who decided he wanted to play peekaboo (both in videos at the end of the post)
And the following creature that kind of snuck up on me and my dive buddies - believe it or not, the rock like creature below is actually a fish
Below I have included a couple of videos so you can join me on my dive as I follow both the turtle and play peekaboo with the sea crab
I hope you enjoyed this post. Please let me know if you would like to see more like this.
This is what I saw in Puerto Galera, not far from Batangas

Nice. Looks like a good place to dive as well. I will probably have to visit sometime later in the future
