SteemitPhotoChallenge Entry - The story of The Amazing Hibiscus Plant

in photography •  8 years ago

I won a gift card to a local nursery last fall and finally went in to use it a couple of months ago.

I chose 2 beautiful hibiscus plants. I got them home, planted them in a new pot I purchased. I placed it in the garden area in front of the house. They were oh, so pretty. They bloomed right along with my Asian Lilies. I would open the front door and admire the beautiful colors in bloom. 😃

Then the groundhog/gopher/AOUS moved in to an area of the garden. There are 2 of them - that we saw. They thought these beautiful flowers were their personal buffet. 😠

After eating on the lilies and then everything off the hibiscus one morning we moved the pot to back deck where they amazingly came back to life sitting on the deck rail.

They were fine on the deck rail until one of the storms knocked them off and they spilled over on the deck. 😥

I repotted them again, this time leaving them on the deck floor instead of the rail. They have survived and are blooming again!! Every day new blooms burst open for me to admire while I get my morning coffee.

I also love hibiscus flowers. I look forward to looking out my kitchen window and seeing them each morning.
