Got em'

If you follow me you know by now that I love outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting.

This is a look of a doe(deer) that I shot during hunting season last winter. I got her up at my friend's hunting camp in North Florida.

Here is a look:

I dropped this deer right where she was standing with a perfectly placed shot, and I will never shoot a deer unless I am 100 percent that it will be an accurate shot that will essentially instantly kill them. I don't want to make an animal suffer, and even though I am a hunter, I am not heartless when it comes to animals.

I love eating deer meat and I usually get some processed into deer sausage. Killing a deer like this one stocks my freezer nicely, and it helps save money throughout the year.

I don't hunt myself mostly just because I never went through the procedure of getting a hunting licence. They make you do a course in Canada before you can get a hunting licence. I know enough hunters that I get to try some wild meat though.

Deer is ok. Quite a few people I know turn them into sausage or jerky. They just don't prefer the deer meat by itself. Moose meat is better tasting in my opinion and lots of other peoples' too. Quite a few process their moose meat into steaks, roasts and ground meat and they get their deer turned into sausage and jerky. Maybe that's just the people I know but it seems to be pretty common. The deer meat is a little gamier than the moose meat.

Maybe someday I'll get my hunting licence. I got my gun licence so that's a good first step.

Happy hunting. Thanks for sharing.

Is it legal to hunt them? Where do you live?

It is if you are properly licensed.

is it a contradiction to say "even though I am a hunter, I am not heartless when it comes to animals."

even if it causes less pain to the animal, you are still killing some dears, father/mother/brother/sister for your fun

I understand you are trying to justify your activities by saying you are less bad than other people who kill animals, which I suppose is ok but it's still an unnecessary act imo.

my 2 cents on it anyway

It's for sustenance more so than for fun.

well hunting for food is better than just for pleasure
