This is a shot of me with my awesome instructor Ron with Earthship Biotecture. In November of 2011, I did an internship helping to build these radically off-grid homes, which utilize solar power, passive solar, rainwater collection, and geothermal heating and cooling as a way to be as sustainable as possible. Ron was an amazing teacher and someone I'd love to reconnect with in the future. If you're making your way through Taos, be sure to stop by and visit these incredible structures. And in the near future, you'll also be able to visit @inspirewithwords off-grid RV park :)

hey hey! congrats mate on doing the internship / academy.. That is of course just the start ;-) did you manage to do the first build on your own yet.. however small? I know that is SO hard because you need LAND and money.. i managed to get around those hurdles by building in India.. I learned SO much and it costs peanuts there to try something out.. ITs actually cheaper to just build something in India than to pay for a course in most of Europe.. not that there are many!
If you ever want any advice please do ask! Im also promoting hybrids such as Earthship and Earthbag which go together very nicely and can speed the process up a bit.. it can be SO much simpler than the global model .. and you can avoid the whole front side carpentry if you make it a round shape..

We need more initiatives like houses built with the eco friendly technologies. Solar and geo-thermal energy can help our planet considerably. Also in my view research on agriculture should be stopped or at least no one should be allowed to have patent on any plant or tree and uses of them. I will explain this in my post someday in future as I am too busy these days.

Hey @colinhoward, I don't live in America but Taos definitely sounds like a good place to visit, you should check out @eco-alex if you don't know him already, he has a lot of experience in earthships and he is very inspiring definitely some one good to connect with on here and he is with tribesteemup too x

Interesting, now that I see your post I remember that some months ago I was receving the word 'Taos' in the dream state, yet back then I didn't know at all what this is supposed to be mean. Now it makes more sense ;)
