Our 2nd day in Guanajuato involved a lot more exploring. It's such a colorful city so we just wanted to share a little bit of what we saw.
There are no shortage of vibrant colors in Guanajuato. I don't know the history about why people began painting their homes with bright colors but I do know that the city didn't always look like this. In a restaurant, we saw a photograph of the city about 70 years ago and there weren't any colorful homes in sight!
We went to a restaurant for breakfast where they had a couple tables out on a bridge that overlooked a couple of streets. This was our view straight ahead.
Looking to the right from our table, we had this view - some of the brightest colors we had seen yet!
After breakfast, we took a walk up that street to the right of us and came across quite a few other homes worthy of a picture but this one was probably my favorite.
When taking a stroll around the city, you'll occassionally pass an opening between the building where you can see up into the hills surrounding the town.
We took a hike up to the top of one of the hills to see the monument El Pípila. From the top, we earned another outstanding view of the city.
After climbing up to El Pípila we went to El Centro where you can find tons of vibrant greens from the trees and surrounding vegetation.
As a photographer myself I'd be delighted..no..STOKED to get there and photograph all those colours! It is absolutely phenomenal!

Wow! The colors and buildings remind me a lot of San Juan. The dynamic range in those shots is pretty good.
