Dahlias are probably my favorite flowers. This particular Dahlia grows huge. "Dinner Plate Dahlia" is the nickname for this particular variety, and the specimen shot here was around 8 inches wide.
I've been busy shooting flowers all week. I visited my local Botanic Gardens, and a huge garden festival here in Dublin called Blooms. More shots soon...

Stunning Shot! I went to a Dahlia show a couple years and was amazed at the wide variety of colors, types and sizes. They became a favorite of mine also. We plant some in our garden every year now.
