Here is the follow up to my first photo series. This trip was mostly focusing on Utah, and a little bit of the north rim of the Grand Canyon. I rented a Maxima for this one and drove it a few thousand miles. Again, the camera I was using is an Olympus E-PL5 with Sigma prime lenses and a B+W CPL filter. And this was during monsoon season in August. Cool time to visit
These first two are just outside of Page, AZ. That's my go-to town to stay in if I'm visiting the Utah/Arizona border or the Grand Canyon.
Here are a few shots of the north rim of the Grand Canyon
Here is a random dirt road I found that goes through Grand Staircase National Monument in UT
This is Zion National Park. It was actually a little "smaller" than I expected, a bit disappointing.
This next series is from Cedar Breaks National Monument (11,000+ feet up and absolutely incredible) and Bryce Canyon. I stayed in Bryce Canyon for a few days in a really cool lodge. This is a great place to stay if you're in the area
Here are a few pics from random driving on Utah highways. This state is beautiful and the whole thing looks like a national park
These next photos are from A) the drive down into Moab, UT which is one of the most incredible vistas you will ever see on the road and B) Arches National Park which in terms of vastness and easy hiking is my favorite park by far
These next couple pics are from Canyonlands and random sights leaving the area
This next shot is when I was leaving Moab. This was taken about 30-40 minutes after sunset
And this last shot is something weird you see driving west into Las Vegas. It's the Ivanpah Solar Power Facility
Hope you guys liked it! As for Vegas, I'm not a big gambler. I left my credit/bank cards in the car and went in with $200 cash. I played some slot machines and doubled my money, then kept going and lost my winnings and my original $200. Then I went home :)
Nice photo series!
