With Patience and Some Skill You Get Nice Results

Not only die-cast fans love to paint their models, if you are in small scale RC models such as 1:27 scale Kyosho Mini-Z or the even smaller 1:43 scale Kyosho dNano you can get a while non-painted body and do the painting yourself. Just like I did for my fleet of small scale Kyosho RC cars and here are some pictures that show the final results... as you can see I'm a fan of Audi's R8. I took some photos of the finished car bodies before actually bringing them to the racing track, because bumping with other cars may start to damage the paint job.

The base paint was applied with a spray paint can (the silver one), though it ended up being thicker than expected (these are pretty small cars), so for the blue and green paints I've used an airbrush. After that all of the rest is made with a very thin brush and painting carefully and slowly by hand and then applying a protective transparent layer on top of the finished paint to make it last longer. Fun thing to do for people with a lot of patience and some skill, not only for painting, but also for racing them after that...
