In yesterday's post about the small scale Kyosho dNaNo RC Car that I have posted @steevc asked for comparison photos of the model next to something familiar to better get an idea about the actual size. So here it is next to two 1.5V AA size batteries to get a better idea how small that thing actually is.

Next up is the dNaNo card next to the transmitter used to remotely controll it.

The top of the inside chassis of the 1:43 scale RC model with the Audi body removed, mind you the Audi body is actually one of the largest for the dNano series.

The bottom of the chassis where an RFID tag can be seen, this one is used to actually measure the time of the car when racing on the track. Yes, these small RC cars can also use "telemetry" to track their achievements... :)

Cool. How long do they run for on a charge? I assume they need a smooth surface to run. You say they go really fast, so are they viable for indoors?

Up to about 15-20 minutes on a single charge. These are not intended for use outdoors and they need really smooth surface, there is a special track for racing with them. The clearance they have is just about 3mm from the ground... :)

The bigger Mini-Z models that are scale 1:27 are better and more tolerant to the surface and there are not only on-road, but also off-road models there as well.

I didn't think the car was so small.

Interesting. Thank you!
