Have you ever heard of a moonset? We all know what a sunrise and a sunset are but what about a moonrise and moonset? Is there such a thing?
Well in this shot facing away from the sun setting we see the moon giving the illusion that it is the one setting behind the tree line in the distance.
Colours on the horizon lit by the sun caused by pollution in the air from the fires on going in Alberta gives the moon nearly the same look as it were a sunset. The only difference is the lack of light shining down and no light effects and glare caused from reflecting off the water.
If I didn’t tell yea it was the moon would you have ever known?
PS Please be careful with your outdoor activities, this year is very dry with high risk of fire. Last thing I would want anyone to carry with them for life is knowing they caused a forrest fire that could potentially wipe out people’s homes like last year in California!

I’m not sure that the moon actually moves enough in a night to actually set but you can definitely get the optical illusion when it’s placement is just right.
