Yea so I get called out this morning (new policy SkipTheDishes has able to call you out during your available times) so I took off out the door as quick as could be. One coffee and an empty belly so I thought I could grab something at the first stop being McDonalds, man was I wrong!
Everywhere is slammed today with the rain, upsetting I’m missing out on the 2 hrs of orders due to needing to stop for something to eat. Lol brain was a little foggy with not enough coffee and possibly even a little low blood sugar having not eaten yet either. Stopped at Tim Hortons and while rolling up the passenger window I must have put the keys down on the passenger seat 🤦♂️
What ever shit happens, call a tow truck right? Nope they are slammed also and it will be a 2 hour wait and $75 for the service.... fiancé will be done work at that point I’m best to just wait it out.... dammit why did we have to cheap out and only sign Melissa up for BCAA 🤬
BCAA
A monthly subscription service for the sake of breakdowns giving X many tows&rescues a year and it has come in handy time and time again! Once when Mel was in the exact same scenario up island on the side of a sketchy part of highway in the middle of nowhere and myself working hours away it was her only option! Luckily it’s in her name sad for me now we were too cheap to pay the extra for both of us to be on the account mistakenly thinking these situations would be unlikely.... they have been the most likely in my experience!
Now working SkipTheDishes I see the necessity in a service like this as my transportation relates to my earnings. As of now with 2 hours lost I am loosing around $50 and if I pay for the door unlocking service another $75 totalling $125.... let’s assume I do this twice a year totalling $250 then compare that to a yearly price increase of our BCAA plan to include me for $150... $100 savings on preparing for the inevitable unexpected situations often caused by my own stupidity!
On top of preparing for my stupidity it’s also preparing for the “acts of god” such as flats, battery jumps, gas delivery and of course towing for accidents or any other “none drivable” reason.
I called BCAA and they stated 20 mins tops as they have multiple trucks available 🤦♂️ the towing companies even have to put BCAA first!
Lesson learned, Expect The Unexpected!!! Definitely going to get myself added to our BCAA account 😅
