The famous apricot beans.

While I was growing up I was always sad whenever my mum prepared beans, I never knew she was doing me and my siblings good, before I proceed with my family history, let me proceed to a brief history of beans it's benefits to the body, health concerns and the types. There are different varieties of beans, examples include pea, soybeans, lentil, chickpea and many others but I will be focusing on the most popular one which is known as the navy bean also known as haricot bean.

Intoduction: beans is said to be gotten from a legume, ( a legume it's a plant or seed from a leguminosae family,it is grown mainly for the purpose of the seeds and grains referred to as pulse.
Note: they are called pulse because they are the dried seeds of the leguminosae plants. Beans is one of the favourite and common proteinous food in Africa and around the world, but history would say the famous beans was discovered during the European exploration by Christopher Columbus.

What are the health benefits very simple:
1: it's proteinous in nature
2: it helps to lower blood cholesterol
3: contains high amounts of fiber, low in carbohydrates and iron.
the good thing about the apricot beans is that It could eaten preferable with boiled plantain, bread, garri or fried plantain.

Health concerns: it is necessary to always cook beans properly because under cooked beans could be more dangerous to the health than raw beans, some of the beans contain toxic substance known as lectin phytohaemagglutin which requires at least fifteen minutes of proper boiling before it could be less toxic.
