I made some impulse buys after getting a new scanner and picked up a huge batch of slides a while back. These pictures span from as early as the late 1940s to as late as the early 1990s. These were from Goodwill and eBay (sometimes via estate sales). There are many thousands of these slides. I will be scanning some from time to time and posting them here for posterity.
This set continues a batch of slides that I bought on eBay a while back. I don't have as much to go on as to the ultimate origin of these compared to the previous batch I was working on. They came to me from eBay and most likely were picked up at an estate sale by the seller. Most of them seem to be taken in the 1960s and same individuals are included in many of the photos. It looks like there are some that were taken in Miami and some that were taken in New Jersey and perhaps elsewhere. I get the impression that Miami was a vacation spot for this family.
All of the photos in this set were processed in May 1965. While most of the photos I've come across so far have seemingly been processed near the date they were taken (when you can tell anyway), clearly that isn't always the case and it appears not to be the case here.
The first photo features a party along with Christmas decorations. It seems that this was probably a New Year's party so my best guess is that this photo was actually taken some time close to midnight on January 1st 1965.
I think the next three photos were taken at the same time (as each other, not the photo above). Given all the food this appears to be another party. In the second and third photos, the guy seems to be wearing the same clothes. You can also see fall decorations (a pumpkin, etc.) in at least one of them. Not sure why he has a cat? on his head in one of them... It's really the last photo that clears things up though. The hanging paper Jack-O-Lanterns would seem to indicate that this is a Halloween party...at least that's my best guess and given the processing date I'm guessing it was Halloween 1964.
