Signs of Autumn - Mid October - Fruit Trees

Harvested apple tree 12.10.JPG

Been out this morning snapping the signs of autumn.

The photo above is my apple tree now it has been harvested. Wow, it looks so sad. Only a few rotting fruit left and leaves dying, all against a grey sky.

Only two weeks ago, the apple tree looked like this.

Then there's my poor plum tree that I share. It bore no fruit this summer because, Darren, my neighbour, butchered it with his great big, mechanical saw!
It will look so funny when all the leaves have gone.

Last, there's the Elder tree.

No one uses its berries now I stopped my winemaking. (I couldn't make anything drinkable.)

This tree seems to be losing leaves from the bottom up. That surprises me!

How about your area? Does it look as bleak as mine?

Living in the tropics, I have never seen any of these trees in real life LOL. It would be nice to pluck those apples and plums and eat them fresh. The ones we have here are imported of course :D

We have many orchards around London. Apples from Europe mainland grow here now with climate change making it warmer here. Thank you for your comment!
