I am continuing my journey around Iceland and visiting the beautiful Icelandic churches.

One of the most beautiful landscapes in Iceland is the Westfjords. This area is relatively difficult to visit due to the underdeveloped road network. Even during the rains it happens that some roads are closed, and during the winter it is almost impossible to reach some parts of this province.

This church is located in the small fishing town Bildudalur with 238 inhabitants. A church and a smoking fish factory in the background... and that's it ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Somewhere, the small red and white churches have grown to significant sizes, but they are still minimal compared to the mountains in continental Europe.

Very often churches are literally in the middle of nowhere or on the edge of isolated farms.
