Emotions are secondary to thoughts. If you watch your thoughts without involvement, they just come and go. There are gaps between thoughts that can be expanded. Also 'mind and breath are two lovers'. If you slow down the breath, frequency of thoughts per minute is also less and those that appear, are much clearer. Also there is something like 'self image' which have to be understood for what it is - just an image. Same with level of artwork you want to achieve - it's just an idea. Perfection itself is just an idea. The less of mental filter on awareness, the more life is spontaneous. Even if it's up to an artist to select what to 'show', let the receivers judge the 'showed'. Generally - Chill and don't take life (and creativity) too seriously :)

I really love your posts and pictures.. And you are an inspiration.. You guided me when I was feeling stuck and motivated me as well.. Every time you make a post on photography contest I doubt too that my pictures are not worth looking at, no-one would like it.. And so I don't participate, every time I make a dark painting I feel the same, I have thrown a dozen of my artworks bcos of doubts, I wish I didn't... 😍Thank you for sharing a honest feeliing.. I can do much connect with this.
Love and hugs

Thank you. Your art and photography is amazing and special. I am glad that you have kept doing it and are doing so good here on the platform. You have a bright future ahead.

I know the feeling, I found an external drive with 2 tb of photos on it the other day and it's a bit overwhelming....I guess I will use them in my Random Photo Project. Sorry I missed you this morning, I knew if i stuck around I wasn't every going to go to sleep....I will surely reach out if needed. Post some of the photos, I would love to see them....maybe don't do 23,000 all at once :)

I will be posting more photos from projects a lot more. I have been busy shooting and have some stuff i want to share. I am planning on doing some streaming or something in the morning and could hop in your server and chat with everyone when i wake up if you are still around.

not sure if can make it to the morning again...would love to get you on chat anytime though. trying to get streaming too...need to find a way to get out from behind this screen and I think streaming is my ticket

I doubt all the time. each post. each comment. but it's because you are sharing a PART of yourself......... 'creatives' leave ourselves open when we post anything as it's a part of who we are.

The 'trick' is there is no trick...... just close your eyes and hit post........if you write from your heart and share your photo's no matter what YOU think.........I usually find the posts I am most unsure of are the ones people love the best..........

it's Steemit...... the worst thing that can happen here by sharing is someone writes you a DM and asks if you were drinking the night before :D

the best thing is............ well you don't know if you don't post it now do you?

hugs

I can feel every emotion in this shot. So striking. I can feel you though. You wanted to share something but just afraid people might think they are not good enough. But believe me, you are so talented and every photos you share here are magnificent. They always have this derangedvisions feel... One look and I know it is your photo which is really good.
I know the voices in our heads are really hard to ignore sometimes.

BUT

You are a person and they are just voices. You are much more powerful than them. You can defeat them. Believe in yourself. :D
And keep on creating masterpieces.

Thank you so much for the kind words. I have never shot these types of photos before and I got a lot of ideas and inspiration from your photos. You have mastered self portrait studio shooting. One day I am hoping to be half as good.

You should do it more because not only it can serve as a therapy, but you can develop patience and some skills while in the process. Oh, believe in yourself. Your self portraits are great!

Wow! Reading this made me think of @idkpdx and how hard he criticizes himself!

I appreciate the realness in this post.

His stuff is amazing. I could only imagine how critical he must be of his own stuff.

This is such a beautiful post and hard to I'm sure to write. I know exactly that feeling and even if I've come far I'm not nearly where I wish to be.
I think struggling with self confidence in different ways is something most people can relate to.
Too look in that mirror and say HEY there... Instead of.... Ohh You again....
Belive that your good enough... Well written and a subject that really touches..
Your pictures are amazing and I can really feel your pain there..
Belive in yourself my friend YOU are good enough and so is your work ❤️
Look what you do for others and you are a big inspiration... I admire you!
Ya @snook is to blame for many amazing things... Lol
Have a wonderful Sunday. Cheers!

Thank you. I really appreciate it. I know that this is something that a lot of people struggle with, especially here on the platform since so many people are content creators and in the creative fields. That is one awesome thing about Steemit is the community is super supportive.

@derangedvisions host contest #derangedphotography is the best photography contest i seen ever

I know that feeling well
So much self-doubt and funnily enough with the FreeWrites
Always wondering, if when read they would think I have no business telling stories...
And then I came to a point to just focus on the fact that I love doing it and just stay in that lane
Can't please everyone....

Your work inspires me by the way
It was your derangedphotography contest that made me explore the camera, so thank you for that 😊

Thank you for the kind words. One thing I remind myself when posting here is that through my posts even if they help one person then I have succeeded, even if that one person is me. I have used this platform as a form of therapy for myself. Sometimes when I post I wonder if anyone will even read it and I am usually surprised when people choose to.

Thank you for your contribution to the "pc-people" tag

Wow! I love how well your emotions are portrayed and captured in these images - the lighting and colouring absolutely amplify the raw emotion!

I can totally relate! I must say though, I am beginning to feel that Steemit is a safe place to share one's work - whether or not it earns a lot of rewards.

I heard Oliver DeMille speak about education and picked up this snippet of inspiration from him: "Every person you have ever met, every person you will ever meet in your entire life has genius inside." He talks about this "genius" being unique to the individual..
So think about it, you are the only you that has had the combination of experiences, challenges, failures and triumphs that you have had. All these things create a very unique lens through which you see the world. Your own genius. The more we bury our own unique genius with fear and these negative voices in our heads, the less we are able to serve the world. Oliver suggests that it is our duty to "develop and use that genius to serve in the world" -ours and that of others! Only your combination of experiences and lessons can draw the connections that you draw :)

Your contests definitely encourage people to develop their genius! And yours too! Keep steeming so beautifully - you are making a difference! And Share, Share, SHARE your work! I love your images - they inspire me to work on my photography!

"develop and use that genius to serve in the world"

This is awesome. I am glad that you feel that I am making a difference. That was my goal when I created my contest. I wanted to have a way to reward people all over the world here on Steemit no matter what their skill level in photography was and I was hoping to get people to go out and shoot more to improve their skills. Photography has changed my life and I just want others to experience has awesome it can be for them as well.

It’s a beautiful medium to do so! Steem on!

I can totally relate to this. I'm really hard on myself most of the time. It's so hard. You end up being your own worst enemy.

Yep. It is hard to not be critical of your own work. My wife doesn't like it when I am going through shots after a photo shoot and I think that a lot of them are no good. lol

I'm in the fortunate position I know everything I do photo and post wise is plain awful - but it's all I've got so it gets shared whether people like it or not!

You've certainly got the selfie shots down perfect, do you use a timer on camera to capture these.

LOL, your stuff is awesome. As far as these pictures, I used a tripod and the 10 second timer on my camera to get the shots. I had a remote that worked with my other camera, but it isnt compatible with my new one.

We can be our own biggest critics. Often we can look at our efforts and think of them in the worst way and then others are looking at our accomplishments and praising us for our greatness. It can be hard to see the greatness in the things we do when we are so critical of ourselves. I can tell you as someone on the outside looking in, I am absolutely blown away by the images that you share and in you say that we have only seen less than 1% of all you have to share then we are all in for a wonderful experience as you bring the world you have captured to us.

Thank you. I am glad that you appreciate my stuff. I am hoping to be able to share more of my stuff in the future. I have some cool projects coming up and I hope that they turn out the way I am planning them.
