The best experience we had in Rishikesh. It was so good that we went there.
The famous Ganga Aarti ritual takes place every night in three major towns along the Ganges, but Varanasi is probably the biggest of them. The ritual invokes the goddess of the holy Ganga river by offering fire and chanting in her appraisal.
We attended the Ganga Aarti in Varanasi and Rishikesh. Gange aarti takes place at 6.45 PM in the evening after the sunset for around 45 minutes at the Dasaswamedh Ghat in the Varanasi and Rishikesh is held on the banks of the river at Parmarth Niketan Ashram. Devotees have started to come to see the Gange Aarti at least one hour before. The scene is truly surreal. Big crowds of Indians and tourists are watching from ashore, while hundreds of boats congregate behind the stage. In Varanasi they played a recorded tape whereas in Rishikesh that have a live bhajan mandali singing it with all three instrument. And even after the Aarti is over they play some devotional song and people can dance to it. Tead snack vendors wander around, and believers can get a third eye chakra from a small donation.
Have you ever gone somewhere truly spiritual if not then visit Varanasi - India Once and then you will know the beauty of it .❤🇨🇮
