Rockers in love: A photo session with Kas and Emily - Original Work

We recently posted this (we think) awesome photo session on our blog and I wanted to share it here with the fine folks on Steemit as well.

We have an interesting story of how we ended up photographing this incredible couple. You see about a year and a half ago I got a request to take photos for a local band called Little Crow. Not super unusual, I get a few requests a year from bands even though we specialize in weddings. Anyhow I met up with Emily and chatted about her band and project. They wanted to do an all black and white shoot and I loved her concepts so we got things going and eventually made it happen. I'll post the photos from that shoot some time here on Steemit as well, but long story short eventually her and Kas got engaged, and they hired us to do a photo session with them before their wedding (unfortunately we aren't available to photograph their actual wedding) It ended up being one of our favorite couple shoots of the year for a number of reasons.

Leading up to a photo shoot or wedding it can be tempting to check the weather forecast repeatedly and hope for clear skies. The truth is the weather man is often right but the silver lining of “difficult” weather is that it can create dramatic, moody and beautiful backdrops. It may push you out of your comfort zone but the results can be breathtaking.

These two are a perfect example of what can happen when you throw all caution to the wind and embrace the weather.

Anyhow back to the point, I wanted to share this photo shoot that Sabrina and I did with them earlier this year. It's a great example of what can be done on a "not ideal" day if you and your clients have the right attitude and are willing to be rock stars even when it rains.
