Here are some vacation options.
Take a canal barge cruise in Europe - short or long to suit your budget.
Picturesque scenery between quaint villages and vineyards, especially in the south of France. Summertime would be the best time for this. Friends of ours hired bikes and took them on the barge with them. They were able to go shopping or visit a restaurant by bike, whenever an interesting place, took their fancy.Go on a culinary course, in France or Italy.
This package normally includes accommodation and food. Tuscany is a great place to visit and learn how to cook, while savouring the beautiful countryside. There are many painting courses dotted around the world, that cater for artists, wishing to expand their talent.
Choose the area in the world you would like to go and then Google the various classes, that are on offer.
Some courses will only be acrylics or oil and others, in water colour medium. Accommodation and meals ore usually included and husbands or wives, are also welcome.
Biking tours that meander through villages and scenic paths in the countryside, are also an option.
You can meet people from all around the world and exercise in a group of like-minded enthusiasts.
Short cruises and tours can also be combined, to create a varied and cheap vacation. For instance a 3 night cruise and night tour, can also be a good option.
Join a sailing flotilla in Greece and cruise around the beautiful islands, stopping in at sandy bays and exploring the island culture.
