The Kamakhya temple is situated in Assam, India and was established with a story. The story is that when mother Goddess Sati, who was determined to be married to Lord Shiva sacrificed herself in the fire because her father who was a king had insulted Lord Shiva by not inviting him to a ceremony. After Mother Goddess Sati was burnt down to death Lord Shiva took her body on his shoulder and flew above the earth and forgot about himself.At this Lord Bishnu thinking that Lord Shiva could be brought out from this trauma only when the body of goddess Sati is destroyed. So Lord Bishnu through his Sudarshan chakra(wheel blade) cut the body of goddess Sati into pieces. The bottom part of goddess Sati fell Guwahati, Assam where in course of time the Kamakhya temple established.
