Late Millangoda Raja | Longest Tusked Elephant in Asia...

Millangoda Raja Tusker was discovered in 1945 in a jungle close to the village of the Millangoda area in Anamadulla in Sri Lanka.. Its tusks had grown about 8 feet long and they touched the ground. Then these tusks were recorded as the longest elephant tusks of an Asian elephant..

The Tusker carried the casket of the Tooth Relic of the Kandy Esala Procession as well as other procession in the upcountry..

Millangoda Raja Tusker lived in Molagoda Kegalla and it was 70th years old majestic elephant.. Later it was suffering from a serious illness for a long period and it died on the 3rd of August 2011..
