Today I want to share our walk around the spa district in Bad Kreuznach with you!

Our walk starts at the parking lot in front of the hotel "Fürstenhof" and takes us along the Nahe River and the parallel Nahe Channel.

We'll cross the Nahe river over the Spa bridge where one of the open-air inhalatoriums is located, follow the bank of the Nahe river to the radon tunnel, walk up to the very nice hotel "Der Quellenhof" on the "Nachtigallenweg" where we cross a pedestrian suspension bridge, to walk back in the direction of the "Kurpark", through the Kurpark with the wonderful Parkhotel and "Kurhaus" (central Spa house) and the "Bäderhaus" (Bathhouse).

Bad Kreuznach has a range of different and beautiful parks to for nice walks.

We start our walk near the spa houses and open air inhalatorium and Kneipp Cure.

Otto and Emi (our dogs) approve the salty air of the open-air inhalatorium as well!

As we continue our walk we can hear the Nahe river rapids that are in front of us to the left.

This park is part of the nature reserve and along the bank of the Nahe river you can find these signs explaining that the bank of the Nahe river is one of the last habitats of the non-poisonous "Würfelnatter" snake (dice snake).

Nahe River "rapids" (Elisabethenwehr).

The Elisabethenwehr was modified to ensure an optimized passage for wildlife through this part of the Nahe river.

I had a rather conservative mind set in regard to the radon therapy,

"Radon is a chemical element with the symbol Rn and atomic number 86. It is a radioactive, colorless, odorless, tasteless noble gas.It occurs naturally in minute quantities as an intermediate step in the normal radioactive decay chains through which thorium and uranium slowly decay into lead and various other short-lived radioactive elements; radon itself is the immediate decay product of radium."

...but what changed my mind a little is the absolutely positive effect the radon therapy had on my wife's asthma, chronic rheumatism, scoliosis, and even relief for her allergies.

You might have heard of some instances where people were exposed to radon gas over extended time periods and this absolutely can be harmful (sometimes radon gas concentrates in house cellars and so on). But the dosages that the people in the radon tunnel are exposed to are concentrated but a therapy session only last about 45 minutes and this way it can unfold the therapeutic positive effect without harming so I was told.

People lay on kind of deckchairs of sit in chairs while they are in the radon tunnel inhaling the radon gas.

My wife usually uses this therapy twice a year for 9 sessions in two weeks.

On the other side of the Nahe river across from the radon tunnel is a physical rehabilitation clinic with spa.

I was there for a physical rehabilitation (orthopedic) for 3 weeks earlier this year.

They have a great team of therapists there and it's quite a nice and clean clinic. Even the food was rather good, which surprised me, and I was lucky because I had a room with a little balcony on the third floor facing to the Nahe river. I left the balcony door open at night to enjoy the sound of the Nahe river across the street.

Along the bank of the Nahe river there are some very nice villas that mostly have been modified to multi apartment complexes.

Otto and Emi enjoy this walk a lot!

On the right hand the Hotel "Quellenhof", a nice place with great coffee and a fine selection of cakes. I've been there on their terrace a few times in summer. Beautiful!

Look back at the Hotel "Quellenhof".

...and yes, it oscillates! Hahaha!

Not a good time now in fall to show roses I guess! ;-)

This btw was the occasion for this little walk around the spa district in Bad Kreuznach. My wife had an massage appointment in the Bäderhaus.

Otto and Emi waiting for my wife at the end of our little walk...

Awe... wife is back and Emi is relieved!

...and so is Otto!

This concludes my little walk with the dogs in the spa district of Bad Kreuznach! Phew... this got quite large but I hope that you like it!
