Steve

The new member of the house, his name is Steve. As usual he was found crossing the road on the way to the farm, generally they get killed like this. Or someone finds them and sells them on the side of the road or tries to till they die. It is sad to see a dead chameleon as you can hardly find them out in the wild like you used to.

He seems to love my sister, I have no idea why. Each time I come close to Steve he runs away and starts turning grey with black spots.

When my brother and I were younger we kept one as a pet on the farm. It got so used to us that it would eat out our hands and from time to time he would even stand on our fingers and eat. It looked like we had our own insect eating gun as we would point and he would shoot his tongue out.

It's my love!

haha i love your chameleon story

So , when anything goes wrong or missing , Steve can be blamed?
Seriously they are fascinating little creatures, and an insect Gun would be really useful with the quantity of flies we have around!

So I see Al is also part of this forum? Nice to see you here Al....hope you're well? This is Justin BTW

Great to see you here , Justin.

Oh yeah they are the perfect guns so much fun

You love animals.

Take care of him very well, what I do not understand is for that they kill them? Are they edible?

As you said, in my childhood, there were many of them, even of slightly different shapes and sizes (I lived then in Arusha, just below Mt Meru). Even there, the chameleons are not so easy to find.

Everything has paid the price of our being the dominant specie - even we have/are.
