Frozen Lake

It's been quite cold these days in Bucharest. Not as cold as it usually was at the end of January, but cold enough that some of the lakes in the city were covered in ice.

The picture is taken from one of the two small bridges around lake Herastrau, the largest one in Bucharest, and a favorite location for runners. If you look carefully, on the left, you'll see the small boats turned upside down and covered in snow. In the top right corner, the lights of the city are silently and gently reminding of civilization.

Thanks for the heads-up, corrected! And yes, you should run this park. But until you do that, I may run in your country first. I'm planning to be in Valencia in the second half of March.

Brrrrr! Your photo really captures that chilly feeling. I want to put a jacket on while I read your post.

Nice. It's really interesting looking at all the record snow and ice happening in the northern hemisphere this year.

While we are sweltering in some of the hottest temperatures on record, and we haven't even started the hottest month yet!

I don't usually say this, but I'm looking forward to a bit of autumn ;-)

I saw another picture the other day of an overturned boat in the snow. If you stop and think about it, there's a lot of depth and meaning to it. Here's something that's meant for fun and enjoyment, but the timing isn't right, so you set it aside, put it so it won't get damaged, and come back when it can be useful and fulfilling.

Stay warm out there.

Our lakes thawed out over this week. We hit 50 degrees fahrenheit here, when 2 weeks ago everything was frozen -20.... Hopefully it warms up for you guys soon!

Oh My God it means you guys are living with that much cold :O
Picture is so skilled and wonderful but at the same time it gave me sense of chill as i am sitting near my electric heater but yet you guys are rocking.

Stay Safe!

@salmanbukhari

Brrrrrrr. Felling the chill....
In our part of world average temperature during winter is 10-15C and we normally shiver if temp drop below 10C
I know you must be laughing about our cold tolerance....:)

Nice photo! Love these compositions, when air is so cold and "foggy" that light spreads out and the night sky looks like it's illuminated.

Also be careful with standing on that ice - at least it looks like you made this picture that way.

Hello dear dragosroua: for us who are on the other side of the world, facing the Caribbean Sea, this photo is shocking because we never see this kind of landscape. It transmits peace and tranquility, something that many times we need. Greetings.

This is so dope @dragosroua that you actually were able to shot such a picture in so cold. Here we are, tucked in our beds and comforters only at the temperature of 10 degrees lol. Kudos to you. Good night, dont let the frost bite ;)

Shit! I have to see that in person!

i can feel the cold looks too much freezing temperature
