Seeing the farm life-Spending the evening with new born lambs

in photography •  6 years ago

The other day I went to a farm, a farm that had sheep. I had the opportunity to see baby lambs and see how they act and basically how crazy and cute they are.

Sheep mate with rams and usually give birth to 1 or 2 babies. The average pregnancy time is 150 days (5 months). A mother can recognize her own baby, in a big herd, by the smell of it.

When I first saw the baby lambs I was very happy, they were so white, soft and small!

Every time one lamb starts running across the farm, then all of them start running like a pack. It's very funny when they run, most of the time they jump and then trip and fall making them look even cuter.

This is how the farmers milk the sheep. They mostly do it with a machine and a little bit by hand.

Here are some more photos of the sheep and the lambs.

No doubt they are quite adorable. ..the new borne are always the cutest bunch to play with. Few month ago I too had a new born calf in my neighbourhood. Though she didn't survive the cold weather but her innocent look and softness were very attractive. Thanks for the sharing the glimses of sheep yard👌

It's amazing how quickly they grow and that they have such a short life if they are being farmed for their meat. It is sad in a way , but that is farming.

Awwww. So cute. Baby lambs are ♥.

You have great photos. Thanks for sharing them so we can appreciate the baby lambs too. :D I am reminded of Jesus and the manger. :)

Thank youu!!

Oh so cute, @eagleboy

I share in this endearment to the little peculiarities of lambs, really catches my fancy. I think the young of every creature are usually the cutest things, puppies, kittens, they all charm. And I shouldn't even get started on humans 😃 well, except little female humans, they're cute when they're young, but I wouldn't want to quantify their attractiveness when they're grown 😂😂😂

OK, I'm just blabbing.
I bet you've got this same thing you've got for lambs for other animals' young. Right?

hahaha nice one!You 're soo right they are all so sweet

You're a lucky man to have seen so many beautiful baby lambs. They are so cute and adorable. I used to admire them at the countryside but have never had the chance to hold one. I see they were friendly. Thank you for posting these wonderful photos, it was a pleasure to admire them :)

An adorable view of an animal we don'tcare much about, usually stereotyped as dumb.
Loved the second picture. I think it is the best of the series.
I just wonder, what are they being farmed for (besides the milk)? meat? fleece?
