I love the history of the buildings in our village, I dont know how old this barn is and most times you just walk by it without really noticing its there. But the frost and the fog really made it stand out one day as I was walking the dogs.
This road leads down to the church that was built 1734 - my grandfathers grandfather (if I remember correctly) was a stonemason and made the stairs leading up to the church.
Even though we live very close to nature most everyone got a cabin somewhere even more remote out in the woods. There is something about cooking food over an open fire - the house closes to the camera is a bbq hut, it gives some shelter against the mosquitoes

There are a lot of lakes scattered throughout the vast forests (not as many as in Finland - the land of the thousand lakes) but enough so that a lot of ppl have a lake by their cabins. Its prefered since there´s noting quite like jumping in the lake and having a swim after a good sauna

Finland sounds a lot like northern Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. Tons of Lakes.
