A few years ago on my first trip to Iceland, I knew I wanted to see puffins up close. I had a very limited amount of time in Iceland so it took some searching to find a place close enough to Reykjavik to have a chance. After finding a few references to a spot about away I was off. After a fairly short hike, I was leaning off the edge of a crumbling lava field with puffins flying only a few feet away. After a few close calls of being a bit too close to the collapsing edge, I was able to get this shot.
