Trip of a lifetime in June 2008. Venezuela is in chaos today and I was lucky enough to climb the highest Tepui (flat top mountain) Roraima I drank water directly from the mountain streams and didn't get sick . I camped on top of Mt. Roraima in a cave and I saw bright reddish/pink carnivorous plants, tiny frogs and some of the oldest geological structures in the world on top. It rained a lot but beautiful. It wasn't easy to get to Roraima. I flew from Seattle to Caracas through Houston then I exchanged cash on the black market and with my "bolivar fuertes" I bought a 1 way ticket to Puerto Ordaz where the tour operator picked me up. From Puerto Ordaz I took a long bus to near the border with Brazil to a native american town of San Francisco. from there I started my 4 day trekking journey. Please upvote resteem and follow thanks!
