Appreciate the world around you. It's worth it.

Every morning when I walk to work, I have to cross a bridge. more often than not (especially now in fall & winter) I keep my head down. It's cold as a polar bear's gonads.

But last week, while crossing the same bridge again, I took a moment to appreciate the world around me. For one, there was no one else around. It was the day after christmas and everybody else was at home. Me though, I looked out over the water and was rewarded with this vista at 8 in the morning.

If you look closely, you can see the Erasmus Bridge (the vertical bright shape on the left) and a little over the the right with the same height is The Rotterdam, by the famous Dutch Architect Rem Koolhaas. All the way to the right is The Euromast, another sightseeing landmark.

To the right of The Rotterdam are also some of Rotterdam's highest skyscrapers..

I never fully appreciated this view with all the landmarks in one single view. Until I took this shot.

Note to self, look up and around more, even if it's cold.
