This is one of two coyotes in the area. Living in prairie land there is a plethora of rabbits in the area when there are no natural predators. But the rabbit population was quickly put in check when the coyotes moved into the area.
This coyote is at the limit of my 300mm lens.
While editing the video I realized that this coyote was favoring one leg/paw. Made me wish that the coyote did find some critter hiding in the grass

I almost didn't process it and focus it because it was a bit blurry. The lighting was not the greatest either. It is rare to see a coyote this close to my backyard, so I processed the video and posted it.
If I am fortunate enough to video the coyote again under better conditions, I will post it.

Yes, there is more wildlife in a backyard than you can imagine. A lot of critters come out at night. So I don't see them all.
Occasionally, there are reports of Mountain Lions in the area.

Yesterday when I went downstairs to workout the coyote ran right by my bird feeders. That coyote always seems to run by close to my house when I am not near the camera :)
