Backyard Wildlife: Two Coyotes (Original Photos/Video)

in photography •  7 years ago

The area got of dusting of snow overnight. The trees in the distance caught my eye because they were outlined in white. Snow was sticking to one side of the trees. And the way the sun was striking the trees looked like it would be a great picture.

As I walked toward the window with the camera. Suddenly I spotted two coyotes very close to the bird feeders. I immediately change my attention to the coyotes.

Photographs/Video taken on 23 February 2018.

Backyard Wildlife

The two coyotes walked past my bird feeder area and started sniffing around in the high grassy area.

Animated GIF

One of the coyotes seemed to be looking for small critters hiding in the tall grasses. In this animated GIF you can see the coyote sniffing the ground then pouncing.

The coyotes became very interested in a particular spot, marked it, and ran off into the woods.

Really amazing work done and in my opinion you have filmed and captured the amazing moments and the addon effect of these pictures are the color of the land means beautiful combination of white snow and orange color and for me the snow reflects as cherry on the cake effect on nature. Thanks for sharing and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂

Thank you!

Have a great week! Stay blessed!

Welcome and thank you so much. 🙂

those 2 coyotes were synced for some reason! What a shot, this is like Animal Planet Quality.... I've got see a couple of baby Deers and Wild boars here in Germany. Sucks, not carrying a DSLR with you all the time

I miss a lot of shots and videos I could take too because I am not near a camera. But those are the times you just store it in your mind as a memory.

Have a great week!

@etcmike lograstes unas imágenes muy hermosas, el lugar donde vives es mágico, cualquiera desearía poder tener ese contacto con la naturaleza, tienes mucha suerte.

Un gran abrazo y un beso.

It is very magical at times. My favorite time of the year, spring, is almost here. The magic happens when all the color returns to the landscape in the spring.

As far as lucky goes, I lived in the area five years before I chose this place to build my home. I researched several developments in the area and where I am had the most of what I was looking for in a neighborhood. Several people had their eye on the lot I chose for building my house. I was very fortunate the land development company held this lot for me.

It has been magical living here.

Have a wonderful day!

what a beautiful place you are living in. so close to the nature. now thats what i would call life unlike many of us who are surrounded by crowds and buildings. Lucky you !

Thank you!

I have spent my fair share of time of living in big cities too.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Nice shots. We just moved to West Bloomfield, Michigan and these roam around our backyard. A bit freaky for dog owners. They will go after pets.

Amazing creatures though. Thanks for sharing.

In my neighborhood the owners of small pets keep an eye on them. The coyotes have snatched small outside pets.

The coyotes moved into the area when the rabbit population was out of control. There were rabbits everywhere. Now the rabbit population is under control.

At night I often hear the howls of the coyotes outside my window as they roam the golf course. I have seen them in various places around the area when driving at night.

So far they are very weary of people. With golfing season picking up as spring approaches, I will see the coyotes less during the day.

It will be interesting to see if the population of coyotes increases in the near future.

The Canadian geese are back. I am not sure whether this will be another food source for them.

Coyotes have always been a part of nature in this area. I rather have coyotes in the area than Mountain Lions which are also native to the area. I would certainly be on my guard if mountain lions were roaming the neighborhood.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Yeah, well, you can have them back. I hate the sound the pack makes at a fresh kill. It's usually a bunny, or somebody's pet out here.

Coyotes belong to family canidae.Coyotes are adaptable mamals in North America that has also geographical diversity. They even bit humans so seems terrible....

Other critters in the area bite humans too. Most animals shy away from human activity. We also have possum and raccoons in the area. I have heard of people being bit by raccoons before. I have not heard of any reports of people being bit by coyotes in this area. Any animal that is startled or feels threatened is likely to bite.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
