First Arrival of a Northern Flicker (Original Photos)steemCreated with Sketch.

in photography •  8 years ago

The Northern Flickers in my area seem to disappear as winter sets in (I assume they head south) and return as spring approaches. The temperatures here in eastern Nebraska are moderating. It even got up near 60 degrees (F) on Monday. This is the first Northern Flicker I have observed in 2017.

Live on the tropical Island, but you have got some really interesting breeds of Birds over at your side!

Wow, I assume that there are some beautiful birds on your island. The only tropical island I have been to is Hawaii. There were some very colorful birds there.

I look forward to seeing your photographs!!

@etcmike, cute little bird.

Flickers are such bold birds - in behavior, and in their color patterns. I like the black mustache on this one that shows he is a male bird.
