It was cloudy most of the day and I did not see the moon rise, but toward mid-night the clouds thinned out and the moon appeared.

I can just imagine how magical it was.
When I lived along the beach in California, seeing the moon set on the ocean was magical too. I think I only saw one blue moon setting while I lived there. Back in those days I used a blue filter with a film camera.

It was hard not to tint it when everyone calls it a "blue moon". I did include the animated gif of what it really looked like.
I must admit that on some cold winter nights my eyes do see a bluish tint to the moon. Or maybe that was just my eyes starting to get frost bite.

I wish I could have caught the moon rising.
I was up, binge watch the second season of the new MacGyver series. Toward midnight I noticed the glow from the moon and started photographing it. I was happy the clouds thinned enough to get a few pictures and videos.
