Welcome to the family Wacom Intuos S
On my previous post I told I have a secret patron saint, and I mentioned that with his/her donation, I got something to elevate my art. I didn't want all the money to go to the wind, so when a professional photographer told me that I should really consider getting a drawing tablet, that was a perfect thing to use some of that money for. Now every time I use this, which will be almost daily, I will remember that incredibly kind human that gave me an anonymous donation.
I knew professional photographers use a drawing tabled, the industry standard being Wacom, but I always thought they are super expensive and that I wouldn't really have great need for one. I was so wrong! First of all, they are not expensive at all, not the basic models, there are some with the screen that go for 1000 euros or so, but I got this model on sale for 84 euros. And second, for what I use Photoshop for the most, spot healing, dodge and burn tools, all requiring attention to detail and taking forever when done poking with the finger on a trackpad, a tablet is a godsend for those.
I might have mentioned once or twice, that I am really not a fan of Photoshop, I find it a necessary evil for photography. I spend hours using it, finessing some details, but I find no pleasure in it. Of course one does not have to use Photoshop, but I would not publish ANY self portrait without it. If one wants to have semi-professional looking photographs, it's the attention detail that makes it all come together.
It took me a while to set the Wacom up, but as soon as I got the hang of it, oh dear lord HOW HAVE I LIVED WITHOUT YOU!? It is making my life so much easier that I am almost about to cry, but I'm no pussy. I'll be spending the evening photoshopping some portraits to rehearse using the tablet and really trying to get a more perfected look to my images.
Ps. I couldn't draw even if my life depended on it.
I had one back in Australia AND I MISS IT SO MUCH!

We only brought 2 bags with us to the US... and I'm not doing studio photography anymore.... how much Steem would it cost to rent your tablet off you when you're not using it? Also, how much Steem do flights to Europe cost?
