Reality Check 1: The Most Naked I Have Ever Been

in photography •  7 years ago  (edited)

As my nickname, Eveuncovered suggests, I'm here to bare everything.

I'm starting a series called Reality Check, where I'll share with you before and after pictures, behind the scenes photos and things like that. I am an illusionist and I love creating my pictures, making up a story, a character, showing different parts of myself. But I also would like to share with you the things that you don't see in the final pictures. It's also something I want to see from other artists.

This first part is going to be the hardest post I will ever make. I don't mean to sound dramatic, but I am actually terrified. I'm very confident with my body, which is not perfect either, but I'm not scared of showing you ass, tits, everything! But what comes to my naked face, fuck, I am scared shitless! Of all the places on the internet, I'm choosing to share this here, so it's going to be permanently stored in the blockchain. Fun times.

I hope this is going to feel like ripping off a bandaid. Here goes nothing.

This is the real me. No makeup. No hairstyling. No props. No retouching on Photoshop. You can see everything. Pimples, pores, freckles (which I love!), oiliness, scars, tiny lashes, everything. You can see all my insecurities.

I have always struggled with my skin, whether it be with acne, atopic skin or number of other things. It's due to genetics, diet and hormones. There are good days and bad days. Winters are a lot harder, my skin does a lot better when it gets some sun. I don't care what people say about getting skin cancer from sunbathing, when I see the benefits of the sun on my skin every summer.

It's not like I pile on mountains of makeup every day, but even a sheer layer of mineral foundation and some mascara make me feel a hundred times better about myself. I'll show you some makeup before and after pics on a later date on this series. Please let me know if you have any suggestions about what you'd like to see on here in the future.

good pictures.

Okay, I am not a bullshitter. If I like something I say it. If I don't, I either say it or stay silent. But I won't say I like something when I don't.

And I'm saying now that I LOVE this. The authenticity and vulnerability in these photos and in this post is so numinous that it takes my breath away. I've never met you, but I feel a connection anyway.

I'm proud of you. Good girl. 🙏🏼

Thank you @sean-king for making a comment covering exactly what I was thinking!

Thank you so much Sean, your comment made me tear up :')

Anyway a princess alway will be a princess :)

Thank you for this perfect comment.

Ditto this comment, and the following ones.

Absolutely Stunning. I feel like If I meet you in person, those captivating eyes of yours could look directly into my soul!

Be careful if you have any skeletons hidden in your soul, I will find them.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Ohh I bet you would, but I must say, It'd be worth the risk.
🤔 Will you be attending Steemfest?

No I won't, and quite frankly, that does sound like a nightmare to me :'D I'm quite antisocial and super shy when it comes to meeting new people irl! Though would love to visit Lisbon in general.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

I would usually agree with you, that if your really are a antisocial super shy person as you say to avoid rushing right into a large event like this. However, I fee like this event is very much different then a normal later gathering. A majority of people who attended the first Steemfest often spoke of how they are very much like yourself but decided to go for it! I'm sure some could answer to this by commenting below but the people at Steemfest were just amazing people in general. It's like walking into a room full of old friends you've known forever. Social barriers were broken and everyone got along so well it was shocking! So if you were to ever try and break your antisocial nature and experience something new, this would be the chance. I myself as a child was extremely shy and antisocial and luckily after much travel and pushing to meet new people... I broke out of this. I always hope to inspire people to try the same... uncover 😉 your true self. It seems you've already begun by the looks of your blog and interaction here on steemit.

Well damn, that comment was longer then first anticipated.

Why not visit Lisbon the week before! A few os us will be around (as a ice breaker maybe?)

I'm so new here that I don't know you guys yet, so maybe next year. Also, it's not like I have the means to just take a random trip to Lisbon, and there is this thing called a day job that requires my attension :/

Well said and very true on all parts. The good old day job, a nessesary evil , I have one of those currently , although I do like mine, it does require a lot of attention. Also Steemit could be your means at some point , as we all hope! I'm sure you will be successful here.

Oh and I didn't really know anyone before heading to steemfest 1 but I do that kind of thing all the time lol

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Never been in a steemfest before, actually I am on steem since 1 and half month, but i am thinking to go there if it is in the city where i live, and that's the case xD What do you can say about your experience in steemfests?
Cheers

For me as a painter the question of what beauty is comes up regularly.

My wife runs her own café and we have a lot of young people as our guests. And of course I enjoy seeing all the pretty girls, particularly now in summer and every now and then one even models for a painting.

But strangely, for the last couple of weeks, I feel I'm on od and somehow grow tired of endless versions of the same mould. We live in a world of a vast inflation of prettiness!

I look for beauty in the extraordinary and the pictures of you here are really special. Looked at everyone in "full view". My favorite is the third one. I like the bold composition and the way the crisp detail of the face fades out of focus towards the body.

You look refreshingly real and that's what true beauty is all about. I totally agree with @sean-king and its hard to add anything of value to what he already said.

Stunning post, thank you for uncovering :-)

Wow, that must be the most beautiful comment I have ever gotten! I'm very humbled by this. Thank you.

That is a very big compliment! Makes me feel rather humbled in return... so (positively) stunned, that I really don' find the right words for an adequate reply and... all I can say is thank you too :-o

Was about to add a drawing, but I found out, it isn't always welcome.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

I want to see, please show me what you had in mind!

Are you sure? Ok.... twist my arm...

Sorry, I'm just being silly. Kinda like the nerdy guy in a movie, when he runs into this really gorgeous girl and totally messes up the conversation.

So, with your consent...

scan_nachtfalter-Groß.jpg

I like the nerdy guys so you are in luck!

I presume that is your own artwork and I love it! Your attention to detail is just impeccable! You have my permission to attach your artwork in any comment you give me, here until the end of times. Hope that gets you some followers and upvotes.

Thank you for liking the picture and your permission to attach.

Yes, its my work. Actually unfinished at this state. But this "row" of comments for me also forms an image together with your post and I didn't want to "disturb it" with something too bold.

Natural beauty always been the prettiest to me!! Keep going!!! I up voted

Always stay true to yourself.

It's kinda like a photoshoot. Are you a celebrity or what?

Yes, I have a really famous sex tape.

OMG! you're Kim Kardashian aren't you?

I never would have recognized you without the makeup. ;-)

What do you know? You're blind...and you're a squirrel...who doesn't know how to spell "squirrel" correctly!

Cut me some slack, I'm doing the best I can.

Red bull?

She's stunningly beautiful! She will be famous soon enough that's for sure !

Datz really cul@eveuncovered
Kudos....!

Wow, that looks fantastic,Voted& followed.A wealth of photos makes this post stunning, wish you the same @funnystuff :)
Love & Takecare😘😍

Quite beautiful... You are the Ivory Snow Girl next door... ;)

You have a wonderful face.

I have nothing against makeup as a form of self expression, but it's a shame that women feel they need it to cover up who they really are.

You certainly don't.

Thank you for your sweet comment.

I respect your move. I believe women should be more confident about so called "imperfections" and break the chains the industry pushed females into. Your story is captivating and images are natural and beautiful. So up and following. Maybe some day we will see you on BeScouted, just get back to me and i will hook you up with a free membership. Would be an honor to have such a brave model in our community. Cheers, David

Be assured that your worries are groundless. Your face looks amazing!

Makeup should not make you feel more confident, you are outstandingly beautiful with your natural look! Big fan of freckles :)

You are beautiful - don't doubt that.

I'm fond of my freckles too ;)

great pictures thank you for sharing with us

I agree. The Steemit platform is better than a psychiatrist. In opening up to the community , one can face one's weakness and fears and come to grips with it . In doing so, one becomes more comfortable and accepting of one's weakness and eventually see it as a strength in making one stronger and promoting self growth and development. "Eveuncovered."

I appreciate women who do not use too much makeup or even go with the natural look. It's nice to see natural beauty and not a face covered in makeup. Cheers to you for showing us who you really are.

There is an honesty in your eyes that brings out the rest of your face and your natural beauty. Out of all of the pictures I have seen of you thus far, these are by far my favorite.

Well shit, why do I bother trying then :'D Oh, it must be because I enjoy it. :) Thank you!

Dont get me wrong, I enjoy all of your shots. These stood out is all.

I appreciate the look of honesty & integrity.

Thank you.

Oh my god! What's up with your face??? It looks so...

Normal.

Yeah, it's fine. No reason to be terrified. Any insecurities you might have about your face are completely unwarranted. No makeup is the best way to go, in my opinion. That's how my wife does it and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Haa, you almost had me there for a second! I really enjoy using makeup but it feels amazing to hear that people like me without it too. So thank you for encouraging me.

Shit, I've been that naked every day of my life. I was expecting to at least see some nipples! j/k

Let me know if you ever want to do a "naked shoot" with me. I'll even put on make-up if you prefer it that way, but I draw the line at breast implants ;)

There's nothing I can really say that hasn't been said better by someone else in the comments already but I wanted to comment anyway to acknowledge your bravery in facing something you find so frightening. Kudos for being such a fearless badass!

Thank you from the bottom of my little heart.

Do you do modeling ?
This isn't a sarcastic post
We have a small clothing line and curious ur rate and what not

Just be you. It's within our flaws where true beauty resides. That makes me strong, that makes you beautiful. https://steemit.com/life/@tommygun/loss

I’m personally tired of seeing all those walking dolls enslaved to the cosmetic industry, so props to you!

Sorry to dissapoint but I very much enjoy my cosmetics. I've never felt pressure from anyone to use makeup, it is my own choice.

Makes sense, you = your body = your choice.

Thank you for sharing this with us, Eve. I believe the truth is always more beautiful than the sweetest fiction, and your post only strengthens my conviction. You are exactly who you are, and who you are is who you should be.

Only once we accept and love ourselves as we are now, and stop being blinded what we want ourselves to be, will we be empowered to become who we want to be.

There might be some truth to your comment :)

Beautiful. I love raw portraits, particularly in black and white. For me they are the most powerful form of imagery.

Well then, you are in luck my friend, as I'm planning on posting more raw black and white images later tonight :) Thanks again for resteeming, always very grateful about that.

Cool!

Amazing pic girl

Thanks!

Is very sexy girl

Beauty isn't about having a pretty face. It's about having a pretty mind, pretty heart and pretty soul. To be honest, I haven't been so close to you that I can say something about your soul heart or mind; but one thing I can say without any doubt is that the way you presented yourself is astonishing and it compelled me to say that you are the inside out beautiful person.

Great post and thank you for being real and authentic!!!

Thank you for a real comment! :)

"Imperfections" are something that take beauty to the next level. And gosh you are pretty this way.

Taking off the 'mask' is always hard. Most people never take it ff, even in private. They present the same mask they show the world to themselves.

It takes strength of character to show the real you, and even more to be the real you.

You talk about not having the perfect body, but perfection is a fallacy - it doesn't exist. It's better to strive to beinteresting, to be different, to be true to yourself and not someone else's ideal of perfection.

Kudos to you for taking the brave step of showing yourself to the world, as you are. And as you can see from the comments, you are accepted and welcomed and celebrated for who you are without the mask.

So maybe the mask is not needed after all......

Very brave and very beautiful

Would you be open to me using some of your art for my blogs?

I'm trying to develop a network of artists and writers who work together. Artists get promoted in other blogs, and writers get new exposure from the fans of the artists.

For me, I am doing my best to only use steemian generated art for all of my blogs. My blogs don't make much right now, but I always send the artists a tip, linkback to original post, and tag the artists. In general, I think a percentage of the post payout would be a fair way to work it out... you can check some of my recent posts for examples of how my "image sources" look.

If you would like more details, see this post: Why don't we get more Images for our Blogs from other Steemians?

I would love any feedback you have on the issue. It would be great to get the community on board. Right now I'm focusing on finding artists who are interested, and then once we have a decent number of artists, then I will be contacting writers encouraging them to connect with the artists who are on board.

Also, perhaps you already know, but there is a Discord Server for Artists on Steemit. <3

Have Fun, and Steem on!
(#notabot Genuine Alien Interaction)

p.s. as far as makeup goes, less is more (my opinion). then again, it is a tool for art, so... anyways, you're beautiful!

The authenticity is a breath of fresh air. I hate over-produced.
I Upvoted this and your next post.
Follow me, @joe.nobel , for erotic stories for your reading pleasure.

You are really looking gorgeous in those snaps. So, never bother about any skin problems!

I have no clue why you'd be so nervous about showing the natural you. You're gorgeous. I'd love to lie you on an exam table and count your freckles. Wait, that shit sounded creepy. I meant it in a way as to say that freckles are a major plus to me. lol

I am with you! For me it is hard to tell my story. Many years i struggled with my emotional world. You re beautiful! Would like to see you on my channel. Maybe you have some critical thoughts for me.

Hello gorgeous, welcome to Steemit. My advise for you at this point is that don't resteem too much, otherwise your own content will be lost, and use that pretty face for your advantage :)

You are lovely as you are!

Nothing wrong with how you look. You're lovely.

And as always, haters will hate, just ignore them.

I haven't gotten any hate :o Internet, you are full or surprises!

Very cute!!!
@CandiTits95 is still my Goddess

It's amazing how much is "said" by your eyes in those photos. Very beautiful, very real. I love when a person is comfortable in their own skin and then confident about themselves as a person. Keep it up! Please.. haha!

Well, I was definitely not confident with this post! But thanks anyway.

Hi,,, Handsome you doing very Well I need YOur Moral Support can you do follow back Pleaseeeee........... @eveuncovered

can't wait for reality check 2,3,4...hopefully there are more amazing pictures. hehe..

let me follow you

I commend you for being brace and putting yourself out there doing somthing that makes you feel uncomfortable. Overcoming these insecurities will make you a much stronger person. You have lots of support here and in no way should feel uncomfortable. Great post

Thank you for the kind words and support :)

As others have commented, the third is by far the strongest of this set and the most beautiful. Disposition towards vulnerability, or an attraction to the unique, call it what you will, but its profound.
The best portraits are those that express human emotion, untethered by limitations or expectation (canned pose). They often come by mistake or pure luck for some photographers once a model feels more comfortable.
Ironically as you stated, the reverse was true, but in that uncomfortable moment in selecting to capture and post this, you provided a new dimension previously missing from your work. Courage.
Thank you for sharing that side of you.

Thank you for being so kind.

I find it really hard to truly photograph my purest unfiltered self, soul, you could say. Seems like even if I try, there is always a sort of film of something else on top. Of course, I often portray a character on purpose, but that's a different story.

Your face is simply perfect, I don't know why you still worry about it. About the sun effects that are good sometimes for the skin, I think you can buy a lamp (I know, it does not compare to the sun but let me finish) with UV radiation and expose your skin to it for a couple of minutes a day. It can be very good for skin, but don't abuse it :D

Njäääh, I'm flying to Southeast Asia soon in search of this magical sun you speak of :D
