Yearning

Just some scattered midnight thoughts.

Going through some old photos and came across these random shots I've taken maybe couple years ago, near our family home in Central Finland. I love the countryside, I really do. The peace, the beauty and the untamed nature. I have a great yearning for country living, which I never truly appreciated in my teenage years. I'd love to see the world, but I really also want to get back to my birthplace.

It's so safe in there, you never have to look over your shoulder or lock the doors during the day. Though there are bears roaming only half a kilometer from the doorsteps, but they have their territory, and we have ours, both respecting of each other, co-existing. The forest will give you everything, if you respect it and only take what you need. Autumn is my favourite time, the forest is basically full of free food, if you know where to look. Berries and mushrooms, in abundance.

One random favourite thing in the country is that there are no street lights, I fucking hate the yellow glare that hangs all over the city. It makes me sick. Oh and the wood fire sauna, how could you beat that. Soon it is also the time for apple picking, so much apple pie in sight.

I need take a couple days off soon and make an escape for my homehome (aka the birthplace, aka parents home, aka my real home).

I think we learn to appreciate the countryside and the homeland more when we finally get out and start living in the city. Something we always wanted to when we were teenagers.
After a while all the city charm somehow fades away. It is still coo, but it's so noisy and crowded and full of car fumes..

I love autumn. I cant wait for it to come. Here in Portugal it is still pretty warm.

It's already midnight over there?!
Looks like a beautiful place to call home....

1.52am to be exact. It is really beautiful, I have to go out there and shoot more so I can show you :)

Gorgeous Landscapes + Gorgeous You = Incredibly Gorgeous Photography

There truly is no place like home... Hope you enjoy your visit back to the place that you belong Ms. Eve...

Always do.

Great my friend 👍🏻

Beautiful 👌😊

@eveuncovered It looks wonderful there, especially the last photo :) been to some places in my youth, including the barrier reef.. but never had the chance to see finland, maybe 1 day if i renew the mugshot book, that allows me to travel ;).. The nearest to silence i got once, was up in drumnadrochit Scotland..despite is being colder than Siberia.. ok.. exaggerating a tad..

Awesome photos!
What camera and lens did you use?

Does the dilapidated hut in the foreground of the top photo look like Wallace's house in the beginning of Brave Heart...Or is that just me? haha

Wonderful work! Couldn't admire it more than I am right now

I like this photo is very nice🌹

Looks very much like the area I live and where I grew up. Funny how we all want to get away from it as teenagers and young adults... now I look at it as an island of the blessed, a real paradise and I love living here.

Not quite out there in the country, but in the center of a (very) small town, and I have my own back yard with a ginkgo, three apple and a plum tree :-)

Yes, autumn is wonderful. Libra season ;-) I love the smells, the colors and all the goodies nature offers us to harvest.

Wish you'd share a little bit of your garden with us, I'd love to see it.

Oh you and your Libras, twisting it to go for any and every topic 😉

Hm... just occured to me, that I never took many pictures of it. Usually down there without a camera. Plus, right now it looks more like a jungle...

Ahh like a secret garden, I like the wildness of it!

Very secret actually! Although only a few steps from the city square, its completely hidden between surrounding buildings. Most people don't even know its there 😎

You really have talent in photography. I love your shots! They're great! Keep it up :)

Beautiful place. I also prefer the country. Peace and quiet is underrated.

Real good photos here @eveuncovered. I really like the last one with the reflection from the lake. It is Maalta or Malta? Maybe it is another language. Thanks for sharing. UPvoted and followed.

These are lovely! I really like the moon's reflection in the water :)

Thank you :)

Cheers and keep going!

Very beautiful countryside. I love going back to where I grew up and enjoying the peace and quiet of natural surroundings - shady woods, rolling green hills, half-forgotten tracks and lanes. It washes the dirt and noise of city away for a while!
