Results of 2019

At the end of a year, it is customary to sum up any results. I also had a question: to write or not. I decided that somehow I still need to write.

The twenty-nineteenth turned out to be very eventful and varied in terms of events. Throughout the winter, I documented photographically the dilapidated and wooden housing of Veliky Ustyug, as well as the rest of the settlements of Velikoustyugsky district.

In the second half of winter and early spring I began to travel a lot around the area, in the countryside and capture the life of local residents.

The most iconic photos were published in the local district newspaper and on social networks, thereby collecting a lot of reviews.

In the spring, I emphasized perseverance in reporting and street photographic genres.

I still continued to film life on the streets of the city.

Then I was slightly let off and taken to the side of the graphics. A lot of graphic scenes were shot by me on a wide variety of topics.

In late spring and early summer, I began traveling through abandoned and residential villages, as well as writing articles and notes about them in the newspaper.

Along the way, as always, I imprinted the village life, if it was there.

In the middle of summer, I discovered another subgenre of urban landscape, which I can only give a definition of "graphic-abstract."

Metaphysics and space began to overshadow my mind, and I recognized the courtyard spaces as a single energy entity.

Autumn made adjustments, the effect of the drugs was over, and I again went to the abandoned villages in search of the past.

This year can be safely called the year of travel through abandoned villages! I have never visited such a number of places in any year! And most importantly, I wrote about all the places in the newspaper. All my trips will be archived for at least a long time.

And at the end of autumn, the unexpected happened: I moved to live and work in the regional center, in Vologda. And I like everything! Of course, I had many more travel plans: the list of unvisited places is still huge! But all this will be a little later and not as fast as this year.

Vologda met me quite cordially. Unexplored courtyard spaces have opened, many plots for graphics and street, as well as a large number of dilapidated housing.

I feel at home here. Apparently, this is my city. Although, to be honest, how many times I have been here in transit, Vologda did not impress me.

I liked the year 2019, which happens not often! I can’t even single out the main event of this outgoing year. So, I’ll write it in short words or phrases (tags), as in my diary, I’ll describe them all year long: dilapidated housing, reporting on villages, newspaper articles, traveling around the district, abandoned villages, a lot of villages, courtyards spaces, night photo, street, graphics, new work in Vologda, moving, exploring the city.

I believe that I have worked fruitfully. But this is only the first level. Need a step higher.

See you in the new 2020! It will be even more interesting and rich!
