The Houses on a forgotten and non-existent street

In the series of pictures presented below, the houses are shown on the now non-existent street in the city of Khabarovsk.

These two houses were built more than 100 years ago in the late 19th early 20th centuries.

The houses were built by rich merchants for renting.
Now, no longer existing "The Teatralnaya street", where these houses stand, are located in the city center and led from the Central Market to the Central Square of the city.

If earlier these houses left their facades on one of the central streets of the city, now they hide in the shade of new built residential and office buildings.

The street has disappeared due to the re-planning of this area, now the main road passes in tens of meters aside.

Passing along this already non-existing street near these ancient buildings, I imagine, how earlier life was boiling here..

A string of mounted carriages moved to the food market of the city's central market, the townspeople hurried to the main circus, located on the central Square. Someone went to the Post and Telegraph station, located here on the Main, Nikolskaya Square.

Now, if in one of the houses some offices are still located, in the second one everything is empty and in the snow around it is clear, that the building is not operated.

And life is boiling somewhere 100 meters to the side....
