Wood Apple Fruit

in photography •  6 years ago

Hi everyone...

Today, My aunty gave me several wood Apple fruits. I was so happy because i love this fruit. It is usually consumed ripe. Its taste so delicious, almost similar to tamarind taste (but i prefer this fruit to tamarind). In my place, this fruit is also eaten along with rujak (traditional food consists of sliced fruits) or in the form of juice.

Wood Apple fruit is a native fruit to South Asia and Southeast Asia. Wood Apple has a beautiful scientific name i.e. Feronia limonia. Here, we can find this fruit in the traditional market easily. In some places, we can also find several these plants growing in the local people's backyard . Wood Apple fruit is rich source of vitamin C. So, it is good for our health especially for digestion, immunity, and detoxification.

My wood apple fruit. This fruit looks like a small coconut with hard brown shell.

If you come to my country, don't forget to try this fantastic fruit.
