Infrared Photgrphy in the montains of La Madera new Mexico. I will only share a few pictures with you because I am still processeing them from my trip last week and I am far from being done. If you are new to this, infrared phtograghy turns all clorophyl in plant life to white, along with some other cool effect we wont cover right now. The effects are best seen in full sunlight. So lets take a look at some of the images that I caught while visiting beautiful NM.Screen Shot 2017-07-16 at 6.38.27 PM.png
This is some of the mountain range lanscape on a beautiful cloudy day with the sunlight piercing through the clouds. The settings were dark enough to make the trees and grass appear grey. still a very cool effect. The next photo will have a stark white contrast of leaves where green should be.Screen Shot 2017-07-21 at 2.01.01 PM.png

As you can see here the tree is a ghostly white where the leaves woud be a dark green. The sky is supposed to be blue where you see blacks and greys. And the ground is a tan sand color. This is a mosque that we were allowed to photograph during our visit.

This is my favorite picture so far. These two women are both art teachers and very accomplished in their fields. I will be writting human interest articles on each of them in the near future so you can look for this Photo to surface again in upcoming features. As you can see the garden wall on the right covered in white plant life is actually a variety of many colors.

Theis picture was a small mircle. I took this shot out of the window of a moving bus while holding my breath using the fastest shuter speed I could squeeze out of my camera. You can see the shrubs in the front of the picture blurred out from the motion. Alas it was a success, I caught the moon in daylight in infrared against the New Mexico landscape. It looks like another planat to me. There really is no limit to what you can do with infrared photography once you get it in light room and start swinging those knobs around playing with your exsposure, contrast, highlights, whites, shadows… so much love. I love black and white photography already. Infrared is just another exspression of that love.
Stay tunned for more Infrared photos! I have Many more, and I am just getting started… One Love*
