Alfonso Merola is an apprentice of Felipe Ortega at Owl Point Studios in La Madera. He is not only an apprentice, he is an outstanding chef who made amazing meals for us all week, and juggled fire for us on our last night after the clay firing ceremony. I was able to catch some images of his performance using 3-30 second exposure times. He used Poi, nun-chucks, and a fire sword to make it look like he was wrestling demons and dragons, others looked like wolves and deer. there are a few that look like he made wings for himself.. to top it off he was the nicest guy in the world and was very humble and funny, acting like it was no big deal... he has agreed to let me write an article about him as well so stay tuned for his story!!
