Hundreds of thousands of Spaniards from Catalonia and elsewhere have invaded the streets of Barcelona. They protested today against independence. ❌
A week after the banned self-determination referendum ☐ that triggered an unprecedented political crisis in Spain, the 'silent majority" is awakening.
As soon as I arrived on the Rambla (famous street of the center of Barcelona), I heard a lot of people singing in Spanish and Catalan. People said: "Viva Cataluña! Viva España!♪♫♬♩
Every day, in the media, we show just violence and blood. But I wanted to show us, a different aspect. This demonstration was totally pacifist, without overflowing. It almost made you want to go. But I preferred to take pictures and watch people parades.

This spectacle was impressive and beautiful too. I saw people united, proud, and happy...
I really wanted to share with you this historical moment, before Spain takes a decision in the days to come. I do not know how the future of the country will be. I have lived here for only one month and I try to understand all the political and economic issues. One thing is certain, that if Catalonia becomes independent, there are many things that will change. I will be concerned directly as an expatriate. But at the World level there will be many repercussions.
